Large buildings
In such unheated premises you have to pay extra attention to the moisture level in the air!
When ventilating buildings, a certain amount of moisture is continuously added.
The humidity from outside will affect the air inside. To avoid corrosion and mold, humidity should always be kept below 55% relative humidity.
Airwatergreen energy-efficient dehumidifiers can be used in any part of the building. Depending on the installation and purpose, different models are recommended. In attics, basements and crawl spaces, FLEX or REX are the best options. When installing dehumidification as part of the ventilation system, NEXT is usually the most relevant model.
All Airwatergreen dehumidifiers can dehumidify as effectively at low temperatures as at high ones. This makes it possible to minimize heating costs in buildings or parts of buildings that are only occasionally visited.
Below ground level
Challenges
Humidity in premises below ground level usually penetrates through floors and walls. If the humidity is too high, mold and bacterial growth soon develops. Mold then risks spreading to the rest of the building, resulting in poor air quality and potential damage to the building.
Our solution
FLEX can be set to control the “mold index” (LIM1) which provides optimal control to the right moisture level depending on the temperature. Installation is simplified because there is no need for unnecessary ventilation ducts. Dry air is distributed by the powerful built-in fan.
In larger premises with larger air volumes and higher moisture loads, REX or NEXT may be the right choice.
Basement & Storage
Challenges
Moisture challenges in basements are often due to the penetration of moisture from the ground or poorly insulated walls. Excessive humidity in basement spaces can cause corrosion and mold. This can result in damage to the concrete structure. If the concrete is too damp, reinforcing bars can start to corrode inside the concrete, leading to a reduction in strength and potentially leading to concrete cracking.
Our solution
It is recommended that FLEX & REX be set to operate at a relative humidity level below 55% relative humidity to protect against corrosion and mold. Installation is simplified because we generate dry air on site and the dry air is distributed in the space of the powerful built-in fan. This makes it easy to install the dehumidifiers in existing buildings.
Product selection for large buildings
The choice of product depends on the amount of water to be reduced from the air. This can be assessed. In small to medium-sized spaces, the FLEX is the natural choice. Dew point sensors can be used to steer FLEX towards the right moisture level to avoid condensation on cold surfaces. FLEX Can be mounted on a wall bracket or stand on the floor.
If the moisture load is higher, we recommend REX which has 6 times the capacity of FLEX.
In cases where the moisture load is very high or if the dehumidification is to be connected as part of the ventilation system, we recommend the product NEXT.
All our models can be connected to existing climate control systems via Modbus.
