Dehumidification in drinking water production and distribution
Prevent corrosion, condensation and bacterial growth in water systems while reducing energy costs.
Why moisture control is important in drinking water plants
Key challenge: Risks of uncontrolled humidity
Water infrastructure is very sensitive to moisture variations, which can lead to:
- Corrosion of metal surfaces in storage tanks, pipes and mechanical equipment.
- Condensation on cold surfaces, which favors bacterial growth and mold formation.
- Seasonal variations that create inefficient air treatment and unnecessary energy consumption.
The solution: Energy-efficient dehumidification
By integrating smart moisture management systems, you can:
- Prevent corrosion and extend the life of equipment.
- Improve hygiene and operational safety.
- Reduce energy consumption with precise dehumidification.
Applications in drinking water plants
Printing stations
- Challenge: Rapid changes in air pressure can cause condensation, leading to corrosion and system failure.
- Our solution: FLEX dehumidifiers for small spaces with stable and energy-efficient humidity control. Compact, wall-mounted design for easy installation in tight spaces.
Water reservoirs
- Challenge: Large storage tanks with varying temperatures create a high risk of condensation and corrosion.
- Our solution: NEXT handle high moisture loads and ensure a stable humidity level. Dew point sensors optimize dehumidification based on temperature changes.
Water treatment plants
- Challenge: Open water surfaces, pipe networks and ventilation changes create uncontrolled moisture environments.
- Our solution: REX or NEXT maintain relative humidity below 60%, preventing condensation. Smart control systems adapt to temperature changes and reduce the need for excessive heating.

Product selection depends on the moisture load of the room or space. The moisture load can be measured and estimated by calculation, taking into account factors such as total air volume, temperatures and ventilation.
For small to medium-sized spaces, FLEX is the natural choice. Dew point sensors can be used to guide FLEX towards the correct relative humidity (RH) and prevent condensation on cold surfaces. FLEX can be mounted on a wall bracket or placed freestanding on the floor.
For larger spaces such as open water pools and polymer rooms, REX is the best option. REX has a capacity of 30 liters of water per day, which may be necessary in larger halls with open water surfaces and in larger pipe culverts.
For very large facilities, NEXT is NEXT most suitable choice.
We can help with measuring and assessing moisture loads and provide suggestions on how an optimal installation should be designed.
