Construction process
Dehumidification during the construction of new properties currently consumes a significant amount of energy.
Revolutionizing drying in the construction process
It is crucial to reduce the moisture level in concrete and other materials used to prevent moisture damage during or after construction. Today, fan heaters and dehumidifiers are frequently used; while they consume substantial amounts of energy, they also often vent the supplied heat out of the building. That is simply wasting energy!
Airwatergreen's dehumidification technology more than halves energy consumption during construction dehumidification. As soon as window and door openings are sealed, dehumidification can begin. No heating of the building is necessary, as our dehumidifiers are equally energy-efficient at low temperatures. This makes it possible to save energy by maintaining a lower temperature during construction while also cutting the energy consumption of the dehumidifiers themselves in half compared to traditional technology.
Since the dehumidifiers are mobile and portable, it is easy to reallocate dehumidification efforts as the project progresses and moisture loads change from activities such as pouring concrete or applying leveling compounds.
A number of projects have been carried out using our large REX dehumidifier and the smaller FLEX model. Reduced heating can also provide a better working climate! As air passes through our dehumidifiers, it is also filtered.
More efficient dehumidification through effective evaporation
To create a moisture-driving difference in vapor pressure, we drive our dehumidifiers toward a lower relative humidity level, typically 40% RH. This ensures efficient dehumidification even at low temperatures.
This is possible because our dehumidification technology is equally efficient at low moisture levels and low temperatures.
How the dehumidification process works step by step:
- Airwatergreen dehumidifiers are equally effective at low relative humidity levels and across all temperatures!
- Airwatergreen dehumidifiers are very easy to install as they do not require any ductwork for ventilation.
- Lift or roll the dehumidifier into place, run a hose to the nearest floor drain or outlet, and connect the power! Dry air is produced directly at the unit, and the condensate is easily drained away into the nearest floor drain.
All our dehumidifiers can be easily connected for control as well as for collecting data from the dehumidifiers' sensors so that you can monitor the reduction of moisture levels over time without having to visit the premises.
Commercial properties: Properties with open floor spaces are most easily managed with our larger REX dehumidifier. The unit can be placed centrally or distributed to suitable locations across the floor space on each level, as moisture disperses quickly in the air.
Multi-family residential buildings: Our smaller dehumidifier (FLEX) can be placed in each apartment and moved around as the construction process progresses. The condensate is directed into the nearest floor drain. Dehumidification of individual apartments can be supplemented with a centrally placed larger dehumidifier (REX), for example, in the stairwell.
