Why does NEXT use less energy?

NEXT is designed for cold industrial environments where traditional dehumidification loses its effectiveness. Here, we show why the difference can be as much as 70% and what that means for your facility.

The difference starts with the technology

Both NEXT and traditional sorption dehumidifiers are designed to remove moisture from the air. The difference lies in how the technology works. This is also why NEXT can maintain high and consistent energy efficiency as the temperature drops.

In this short animation, we show how NEXT works and why the technology differs from traditional sorption.

When the technologies are compared, the difference becomes clear

The graph shows the energy consumption of NEXT compared to a traditional desiccant dehumidifier at the same dehumidification capacity.

The difference is greatest in the temperature range between approximately +2 °C and +15 °C.

This is also where many food processing facilities, breweries, and cold storage facilities operate every day.

While a traditional desiccant dehumidifier requires more and more energy to deliver the same results, NEXT maintains its efficiency. The result is lower electricity costs without compromising dehumidification performance.

How big could the difference be at your facility?

No two facilities are alike. Temperature, humidity, operating hours, and energy prices all affect how much you can save.

The calculator compares the energy consumption of NEXT with that of a traditional desiccant dehumidifier under equivalent operating conditions. In just a few minutes, you’ll get an initial estimate of the potential savings.

Please note: This calculator is based on a comparison with traditional sorption dehumidification. If you use a different solution or do not currently have a dehumidification system, we would be happy to assist you with a customized assessment.

Calculations are a good start. Measurements provide reliable answers.

A calculation provides a good initial indication. However, you’ll get the best basis for making a decision by taking measurements at your own facility.

That is why we offer the opportunity to test NEXT under real-world operating conditions. During the testing period, we monitor energy consumption, temperature, humidity, and other relevant operating data.

After the test, we'll review the results together and compare them to the baseline. Then you'll know what kind of impact NEXT can have on your specific business.
