Background

Hallertau Water Supply Association is a water utility in Bavaria, north of Munich, Germany. Supplying drinking water to over 35,000 residents, the utility sources the majority of its raw water from groundwater. The Hallertau water treatment plant produces 8,500 m³ of water daily.

What problems did Airwatergreen's dehumidifiers solve?

In the main building of the water treatment plant, recurring issues included severe condensation on the cold-water transport pipes and wet flooring.

During the summer, solar heat entering through the large windows significantly warms the air inside the building, causing the relative humidity to drop. However, due to the cold temperature of the pipes, residual moisture in the air begins to condense.

During the night, as the temperature drops, the relative humidity rises again to an excessively high level.

The conclusion was that a dehumidifier was needed that could lower the relative humidity to a much lower level during the day. A dehumidifier capable of operating equally efficiently at all temperatures – high and low.

Benefits of using Airwatergreen's products versus doing nothing?

Previously, dehumidifiers utilizing compressor technology were used, but they were unable to reduce the relative humidity to the level required to prevent condensation.
