During loading and unloading, warm, humid air frequently enters the loading bays of cold storage facilities. Achieving a completely airtight seal is extremely difficult, and when this moisture enters the cooler loading area, condensation readily forms, creating a risk of icing. This presents a hazard for accidents as well as damage to packaging and other equipment.
What problems did Airwatergreen's dehumidifiers solve?
Wohlins Fryshus Logistik AB, which provides energy-efficient and environmentally smart solutions for storage, logistics, and transport of frozen food, has chosen to address this challenge using two REX units—one positioned at each end of the facility. The dry air flow is directed upwards from ground level.
To mitigate the risk of condensation on cold surfaces, the dehumidifiers are configured to maintain very low relative humidity levels, specifically below 40%.
