Background
Located in central Landskrona, Sofia Albertina Church dates back to 1788. The building serves as the main church for the Landskrona Parish and is open daily to the public for both quiet reflection and vibrant events. A comprehensive renovation of the church was completed in 2017, which included casting new windows, repainting the walls and ceiling of the vast church hall, and installing new indoor climate solutions.
Among the new features added to the church during the renovation was a textile storage room. Church textiles are invaluable heritage items from the parish's history, and mold and other moisture-related problems threaten to destroy them if the climate is not strictly controlled.
What problems did Airwatergreen's dehumidifiers solve?
We installed a FLEX Integrate in the textile room. The dehumidifier maintains a stable relative humidity of 50% RH, ensuring that the textiles are stored in a secure environment.
The dehumidifier is integrated into the church's climate control system, giving staff full oversight of the climate via their computers and mobile phones.
The dehumidifier was wall-mounted above the door using a wall bracket. Condensate was evacuated via a transparent tube (designed for minimal visual impact) running through the church bells' wire shaft down to the drainage system one floor below.
