Background information
The facility is located in an underground cavern of about 38,000m3 where moisture penetrates the premises via the rock walls. As the facility is to be used for sports, the moisture level must be kept at a good level. Both to protect the equipment in the room and to create a good climate to stay in. Ventilation is limited and the temperature is kept slightly below normal room temperature.
Previous ventilation solutions were out of order and a new installation was necessary.
What problems did the Airwatergreen dehumidifier solve?
The main problem was condensation, which created damp patches and ice clumps on the surface of the skating rink. NEXT has a capacity of up to 10,000 m³/h and is equipped with a turbo function that can double the output if necessary. This makes NEXT for handling even high humidity in colder environments, such as ice rinks where the temperature is often set low.
With NEXT operation, the climate in the ice rink has improved and moisture problems have been reduced/eliminated. When doors have been opened and larger amounts of moisture have entered, the turbo function has come in handy.
Benefits of using awg products vs. doing nothing?
Compared to other technologies, Airwatergreen's technology was the most economically advantageous from both an installation and a life cycle perspective.
Since we have the dehumidifiers connected, we can now keep an eye on the temperature and relative humidity in the room in an easy and convenient way. We can also adjust them without having to be on site, for example if we want to change the setting for the desired humidity level or increase the fan speed. Not dehumidifying at all was not an option, as the humidity level would have been too high, with the risk of condensation and mold as a consequence. It is also important to have good air quality from a health perspective as the room will be used for sports.
