Brewery case study
Production and storage of beer, Spain
"The results were so positive that the production facility will be equipped with 7 NEXT by the end of 2024."
Background information
For a large part of the year, humid air enters the refrigerated premises used for the production and storage of beer at the various stages of production. Moisture condenses on cold surfaces and can lead to corrosion, mold and even slipping accidents.
Therefore, it is good to remove the water from the air with a dehumidifier that works efficiently at the low temperatures of a cold store where the cold surfaces are kept at 3-4°C.
Airwatergreen approach
A test was conducted with 2 NEXT assess the moisture load in the premises: how much moisture was generated inside the premises and how much moisture penetrated from outside?
The purpose of this was to assess the actual capacity requirement.
result
Based on this verification, additional NEXT were installed, bringing the total to seven, distributed across the two premises. NEXT are controlled based on data from external dew point sensors and now maintain an optimal climate to prevent condensation on the cold surfaces of the cisterns.
Previously, a number of sorption dehumidifiers were used, which meant very high energy consumption. In the production premises, condensation on the cold surfaces can now be avoided with drastically lower energy consumption.
